About
Welcome to Woodinville Eats, where we review and share restaurant and eating options in Woodinville, WA. This website is an offshoot of the Woodinville Eats Facebook page. I’ve been fascinated with food and cooking since I was a little kid.
The reviews on this site are my personal views and are subjective. We all know that you can visit a restaurant one night and have it be crap and another and it’s the best place in the world. That’s why I visit places multiple times before writing a review. In some cases I’ve been going to these restaurants for many years.
Woodinville doesn’t have a long history of fine dining. Woodinville was a sleepy hamlet on the outskirts of the Seattle suburbs. Mostly fast food and strip mall dining. It wasn’t until the wineries and breweries moved to Woodinville. It started with Chateau St. Michelle and then Redhook Brewery. With those two as the anchors, more and more wineries, tasting rooms and breweries moved in. Probably the oldest fine dining restaurant was Italianissimo which has Ital-American cuisine. The thing that changed Woodinville forever was the Herbfarm and Barking Frog moving in around the year 2001. But it really wasn’t until the current tasting room boom took off around 2010 when Purple, The Commons, Vivi and a host of other restaurants around the old Hollywood Schoolhouse started to open. Now with winery tasting rooms well over 100 and many breweries, the food options have exploded in the area and continue to rapidly expand to meet demand.
